A subdomain is part of a web address which is under the main domain name, for instance name.example.com. Actually, even in www.example.com the "www" part is a subdomain given that the fully qualified domain name is just "example.com". Every subdomain could have its own website and records and can also be hosted using a different provider if you want to use some feature that isn't provided by your current service provider. An example for using a subdomain is if you have a business website and an online store under a subdomain where customers can acquire your products. In addition, you can have a forum where they can comment on the products and by using subdomains as an alternative to subfolders you are going to avoid any probability of all sites going down when you perform maintenance, or update one of the website scripts. Keeping your sites separated is more secure in the case of a script security breach.

Subdomains in Cloud Hosting

Our cloud hosting packages will enable you to create many subdomains for every domain hosted inside your account without any problem. If the main domain is added, it will take 2 mouse clicks to create a subdomain and choose what folder it'll open (if different from the default one), set custom error pages, activate FrontPage Extensions, set a shared IP address or a dedicated one, and a lot more. All subdomains will be conveniently listed in alphabetical order under their main domain for quick access and control. By right-clicking on any of them and by using instant access buttons you can view the error logs, visitor statistics or site files for that specific subdomain. We haven't set a restriction for the total amount of subdomains which you can create with any of our plans, so you can have as many as you want.
